Puppy Placed In Garbage Bag, Thrown Down Hill In Berks County

State police are investigating after witnesses in Berks County saw a man throw a puppy in a trash bag over a hill. 

The puppy thrown over a hill in Berks County is now in stable condition. The Animal Rescue League has named her Daisy Mae and says she is 3-to-4 months old.

It happened on Eisenhauer Drive in Alsace Township around 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12, according to an incident report by troopers. The puppy was recovered from the bag and turned over to the Animal Rescue League of Berks County for treatment, police said. 

ARL spokesman José Joel Delgado-Rivera told Daily Voice the dog is now in stable condition and said she is about three to four months old. 

The suspect is described by state police as a roughly 6-foot-tall white man. He was wearing a baseball cap and driving a maroon or burgundy pickup truck with a bed cap and a silver stripe on its side.

The investigation is ongoing, troopers added.
